1. Deliberate release of LMOs
The Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic as the administrative body competent according to
Article 5 of the Act No.78/2004 Coll., on the use of genetically modified organisms and genetic products, as amended by the Act No. 346/2005 Coll., informs BCH of final decisions on the deliberate release of GMOs in accordance with Article 20(3)(d) of the Protocol.
According to the Article 11 of the Protocol, the Czech Republic shall inform the BCH of any final domestic decision regarding the deliberate release
of GMOs (LMOs) that may be subject to transboundary movement for direct use as food or feed, or for processing,
within 15 days of the adoption of that decision.
No such decisions have been adopted in the Czech Republic up to now.
In the Czech Republic, following decisions on deliberate release of LMOs for research and development or for any other purposes than placing on the market have been adopted in accordance with part B of Directive 2001/18/EC:

2. LMOs for direct food or feed, or for processing
Decisions on LMO-FFPs are taken at European Community level to allow these products to be used throughout the Community. The list of LMOs authorised for marketing in the European Union for direct use as food or feed, or for processing, is available from the BCH Central Portal.
3. Commercial Product
Final decisions regarding GMOs (LMOs) used as commercial products are taken at European Community level to allow these products to be used throughout the Community. The list of LMOs authorised for marketing or submitted for marketing approval in the European Union is available from the European Commission Web Site and from the Web site of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.
