National Institute of Public Health - Accredited Laboratory for Molecular Biological Methods of the Laboratory Department for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, Brno

and it is accredited (under the number 1137) for the following activities:
- Assisting the Central Reference Laboratory for testing and validation of methods for detection of GMOs according to Commission Regulation (EC) No 1981/2006.
- Detection and quantification of genetically modified DNA (of maize, soybeans, rice, potato, tomato, papaya) using ISO standard operation procedures since 2002.
- Development of a new method for the detection of genetically modified papaya.
- Validation of EU-recommended methods for monitoring and identification of genetically modified higher plants.
- Ad hoc services for the state administration.
The Laboratory is a member of ENGL (European Network of GMO Laboratories) since 2002.
