The Ministry of the Environment will auction the rest of European emission allowances from its New Entrants Reserve

The revenues of the sale will be used to support energy savings in public buildings within the Green Investment Scheme.

The 2nd trading period of the European Emission Trading Scheme (EU ETS) lasted until the end of 2012. Because the Czech Republic has not used all of the emission allowances in its New Entrants Reserve, it has decided to sell these in two auctions.

The first Auction took place on 11 October 2012 at the auction platform of European Energy Exchange (EEX). 1 million of European emission allowances (EUA) was sold for 7,59 million Euros. Second auction will take place on 20 March 2013 between 13:00 and 15:00 CET again at the auction platform of EEX. Auctioned volume will be 1 568 500 EUA.
