Drawing of funds from the Green Investment Scheme is successful – more than CZK 10.5 billion have been paid out

The Ministry of the Environment is successfully progressing to a position where all the error-free applications that were submitted will be satisfied by the end of the Green Investment Scheme. More than ten and a half billion crowns had been paid to applicants by the end of last year; this corresponds to more than 50 thousand satisfied applicants.

“In addition, the programme is now in black figures and currently has approx. 130 million crowns at its disposal. These will continue to be used in the Green Investment Scheme, for example also for successful applicants from the area of public buildings,” said Minister Tomáš Chalupa, who acquainted the Government of the Czech Republic with the state of the programme today. At the meeting of the Government, the ministers took into cognisance the regular report on the state of the Green Investment Scheme. Simultaneously, they agreed to increase the expenditure limit of the State Environmental Fund by CZK 1.2 billion during 2012.

The State Environmental Fund managed to accelerate the speed of administration of applications at the end of 2011. Thus, compared to expectations, there was an increase in drawing of funds from the expenditure limit set by the State Environmental Fund for 2011. Thanks to this favourable situation and concurrent prolonging of the administration of the Green Investment Scheme to 2013 from national resources, today the Ministry of the Environment updated the request for an increase in the expenditure limit of the State Environmental Fund by only CZK 1.2 billion compared to the original amount of CZK 2.2 billion. Today’s Government decision minimised the danger that the Czech Republic would have to return any financial means or pay penalties for failure to draw funds from the programme to AAU purchasers.
