Information Services - Library‚ Archives
The Information Services section is operated by the MoE Reference Information Centre (MoE RIC).
The MoE RIC is an expert workplace of the Ministry, providing information support to all categories of users by making available primary information sources (Czech and foreign periodicals, specialised monographs, and specialised information sources in the environmental area), by compiling secondary information sources (bibliographical, reference and specialised databases focused on environmental issues), and by providing information services.
The MoE RIC provides its services through its Professional Library, Information Desk, EU Information Point, and Administrative Archives.
The Czech version of the section allows on-line searches in the catalogues and databases.
EU Information workplace
After the accession to EU, the MoE RIC ensures the appropriate information support. It provides with information from the Information System for the Approximation of Law (ISAP), ensures submitting of translations of technical and legal EC regulations, and English translations of Czech environmental regulations. The MoE RIC creates for the user’s needs the Fulltext database on translations of Czech environmental regulations .

The Professional Library is a specialised library in the sense of Section 13 of Act no. 257/2001 Coll., on Libraries and Conditions for the Operation of Public Librarian and Information Services (the Library Act). Its operation follows the Library Rules.

Information Desk
The MoE Reference Information Centre assures and provides comprehensive information support to all categories of users through information services and consultations concerning users’ specific queries and making searches and overviews.
The Centre study room makes available outcomes of research and development projects done for the Ministry, EIA documentation, and assures basic information support on waste management. This activity has been supplemented by issuing print outcomes of EKO VIS editing series, publishing information on Moe website, promotion including holding of workshops and trainings, and ensuring of student’s practices.

Administrative Archives
The MoE administrative archives (AA MoE) has been established to ensure professional administering of documents submitted and documents arisen from the activities of the Ministry of the Environment as well as the organisations for which the Ministry of the Environment has been appointed as the succession organisation.
The register office and administrative archives provide users with the preview and copy of documents, or ensure lending thereof if appropriate, in accordance with relevant provisions of the Register and Document Discarding Order. Documents and papers from the register and administrative archives can be lent to the public for presence study at the study room of the professional library on writing request of an applicant confirmed by the document producer department which is the owner thereof.
