Flood protection is based on the Czech National Flood Protection Strategy, approved by Government Resolution no. 382 of 19 April 2000.
Flood protection management is assured by flood protection authorities, following flood-event management plans. Flood Committees are the flood protection authorities during floods; they co-operate with the units of the Integrated Rescue System (Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, Medical Rescue Service, Czech Police, etc.).
