Climate Policy of EU

Climate protection is one of the priority areas in EU policy. Climate change is a global problem, the solution to which requires the proactive and constructive approach of all countries. At present, the European Union works on the issues of emission reduction and possible adaptation to climate change. The issue of greenhouse gas emission reduction is dealt with by the Climate-Energy Package, which was approved by the European Parliament on 17 December 2008. The White Paper on Adaptation to Climate Change published by the European Commission in April 2009 deals with the issue of adaptation to inevitable impacts of climate change.
